Hawai’i – The Big Island

Kailua-Kona

This is my first visit to Hawaii and I intend to explore and experience everything possible while I’m here ! As a travel advisor, I often book destinations I have not traveled to although I’m doing my best to see as much of the world as possible. The recommendations from clients, fellow travel advisors and trusted brand resorts and tour operators definitely make it possible for me to plan an amazing trip! I’m going to be doing some island hopping visiting The Big Island, Maui, Kauai and O’ahu and traveling to different destinations on each island. First stop, The Big Island. I rented a car for my stay here which I’d highly recommend although they do have Uber and taxis available. If you really would like to experience the Island you’ll need a car. This is the largest island of all. There are so many beaches and other places to see, each having something unique to offer visitors. Magic Sands Beach is a white sand beach cove is a perfect spot for surfing and bodyboarding. Kahaluu Beach Park is great for swimming and snokeling. There is a protected reef there and I saw an abundance of colorful fish as well as honu (green sea turtles) If you’d like to try surfing or bodyboarding you’re able to do that a bit further out. You can sign up for lessons across the street or rent your own equipment. The sand is a salt and pepper color which is not what I expected but love all the different types of beaches and sand I’m seeing. I spent 10 days exploring this Island and it was an unbelievable experience.
